Philadelphia Women's Culinary Guild

Serving Women in the Food Profession

The Philadelphia Women's Culinary Guild is a professional membership organization composed of women in business, education, journalism, restaurants and other fields directly related to the food and wine industry.

Our purpose is to provide professional support to, and extend the education of, our members via demonstrations, study groups, lectures and our newsletter, as well as to provide a job exchange and networking opportunities.

The Guild also supports young women entering the culinary profession with an annual scholarship award.

Dinner at Kennett Restaurant
Wednesday, March 13, 2012

Kennett Cafe originally opened its doors to the Queen Village  neighborhood on July 4, 1924, and served the neighborhood until in  1986.  Current owners have reopened as Kennett Restaurant, which  features wood-fired pizza and sustainably and locally-sourced food for vegetarians and  omnivores, sixteen local craft beers on tap, twenty fine wines by  the glass, and living wages for a  family-oriented staff.  The owners also hope to make Kennett the city’s  first bar and restaurant to achieve certification through the Green  Restaurant  Association.

During our dinner we will hear from Johnny Della Polla, Kennett's Managing Partner, on their work towards Green Restaurant Association Certification and Brian Ricci, Executive Chef and devoted Headhouse Farmers' Market shopper, on his drive to source locally grown and raised ingredients.
